The Molten Rock Foundation has been forced to cease as a result of the liquidation of Molten Rock Equipment Ltd in November 2016.
The Molten Rock Foundation was established to promote access to the countryside and other non paved areas for all persons with ambulatory disabilities through access to specialist equipment.
The specialist all-terrain mobility product previously manufactured by Molten Rock Equipment Ltd is now in production with Equal Adventure Developments.
Boma The Early Years
Molten Rock was founded by Chris Swift, who became tetraplegic in 1995 following a neurological illness. As a qualified engineer with a mission to get back outdoors with no limits, Chris and his friend Jon Anders developed the Boma Off Road Wheelchair. Thanks to valuable customer feedback the product range then grew to include the Joystick Boma and Head/Chin controlled Boma. However, in 2016, Equal Adventure was saddened to learn that Molten Rock Equipment Limited had gone into liquidation. Equal Adventure set about inquiring if there was anything that could be done to ensure the great Boma off road all terrain powered wheelchair might continue to be available.
Boma and Equal Adventure
